NETA 2010

// April 30th, 2010 // Comments

It is really good to see the group of educators come together that really believe in the high leverage use of technology. I got the chance to see my PLN and lots of new faces. My team and I also presented a couple times and it went well. If you have never been to this conference you should be considering NETA 2011

    I am currently enrolled in a technolgy course here on campus and we have been talking about how far technology has come in the last several years and how much it is being incorporated into the classrooms. Power Point presentations are very commmon, along with using computers to do projects. Email is a great interactive tool to use among teachers and students. I recently have learned how to make my own website and I believe that it will be very benificial in teaching in the future. I learned how to make lesson plans online and addd links to pages, along with making my own rubric for students to follow. I believe that much of the future of learning rests with technology and people need to enroll in classes that explain how to make the most of that technology so that it will benifit our future students.

    The technology class will show where the light switch is. It’s up to you to turn it on…and find new and different light switches ;) Technology isn’t a fun toy anymore in education. It is a necessity.

    How crazy to think about how far technology has come in the past decade or so! My parents always tell me about how they learned from a blackboard and textbooks. I think technology can be such a great tool because it allows students to learn in an innovative and engaging way. I definitely agree that it is a necessity in today’s classroom.
